Steven Knight has refused to "second guess what people want" while writing the new James Bond movie

Amazon MGM Studios recently hired the Peaky Blinders creator to pen the script for the next instalment of the 007 film franchise, and while he "loves" the process, he isn't trying to work out what Bond aficionados might want to see in the follow up to 2021's No Time To Die.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "I absolutely can't talk about anything to do with it.

    "I love it though.

"I mean, the only way to do the job is to do what you want to do and then if people like it, great.

"If they don't, they don't, so I try not to second guess what people want and just do what I think would be the best thing."

The role of the suave spy is yet to be re-cast, after Daniel Craig bowed out of the job in 2021.

And Steven recently admitted he was penning the script with no particular actor in mind as the special agent.

In September, Steven also confessed he had "no plan" of how he was going to write the screenplay.

He told The Sunday Times newspaper: "I have no plan of how I'm going to get there.

"Though I do know this character's going to do this, this, and then they're going to die, or they're going to become king. So that's the plan."

What's more, the self-confessed Bond fan is hoping to come up with a "stronger and bolder" script for the next 007 film.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, he said: "It has always been on my bucket list and it's fantastic to be invited to do it - I can't wait to get started.

"I'm hoping that, being a Bond fan for so many years, it will be imbued into me and I will be able to produce something that's the same but different, better, stronger and bolder."
