Demi Lovato has cancelled five concerts to "protect [her] health"

The 33-year-old singer is currently preparing for her upcoming It's Not That Deep Tour and while she is "so excited" to get out on the road, she has axed a number of shows because she was concerned she had "overextended" herself.

Demi announced on her Instagram Story: "My Lovatics - I'm so excited to get back on stage this year and visit you in as many cities as I can.

"While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible.

"To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour."

As a result, Demi will no longer perform in Charlotte on 8 April, Atlanta on 12 April, Nashville on 14 April, Denver on 5 May, or 8 May in Las Vegas.

She added: "I am so sad to say that I will no longer be able to see you on this tour and I am so sorry to those who planned to be there."

In addition, the Confident hitmaker's concert in Orlando has been moved from 10 April to three days later on the 13th, where the tour will now "kick off".

Demi concluded her post with information on obtaining refunds, before telling those who will get to see her in action that she can't wait.

She wrote: "If you purchased your tickets for one of these shows through Ticketmaster or AXS, refunds will be issued automatically. If you purchased from a third-party reseller (StubHub SeatGeek, VividSeats) etc, please reach out to your point of purchase.

"In Orlando, all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date.

"Additional tickets are available on demilovato.com/tour.

"I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me! Thank you for your support always. I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon."

The Sorry Not Sorry singer has previously expressed doubts about touring again because of the impact on her health.

She told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024: "It takes a toll on your body."
