    The Tall Blacks have earned a first win in the second window of basketball's World Cup qualifiers, beating the Philippines 69-66 in Manila


    The halftime score was 37-all after New Zealand took the first quarter 25-21 - the visitors extended their lead to 57-46 in the third before the hosts restricted the margin at the end.

    Coach Judd Flavell says his side executed their scouting with aplomb, frustrating the hosts' best player.



    The Tall Blacks head to Guam for their next game on Sunday.
