    Two people are dead after an accident involving a car and a truck in Dunedin


    Emergency services were called to King Edward Street in Kensington around 3.30am, where a car had caught fire after colliding with a truck.

    Two people in the car died at the scene.

    The driver of the car was badly hurt, and the truck driver received moderate injuries.

    Both were taken to hospital.

    The Serious Crash Unit's been notified and the crash is being investigated.
