    Almost 29,000 homes in southeast Queensland - including 7,000 in Brisbane - have been left without electricity because of extreme thunderstorms


    Large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rain hit the region this afternoon.

    Social media photos have shown ice cube-sized hail in Brisbane's north.
