The 25-year-old model - who gave birth to her daughter in September - has taken to Instagram to encourage her followers to vote in the US election and to post her first selfie since giving birth

Gigi wrote on the photo-sharing platform: "I voted absentee last week with my daughter next to me, for an America I want her to see; but not just for us- for fellow Americans that are less privileged, with hope for a nation that is unified, that is empathetic, & for a leader that is compassionate. (sic)"

Gigi - who is dating former One Direction star Zayn Malik - insisted she's "proud" of her fans who are exercising their right to vote.

The blonde beauty's post continued: "YOU HAVE A WEEK AND A HALF [ballot box emoji]

"IF YOU’RE VOTING EARLY IM PROUD OF YOU.

"IF YOU MAILED IN YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT I’M PROUD OF YOU. (&& if you dropped it off at your County’s Board of Elections Office or at an Early Polling Site I’m proud of you!!)

"IF YOU’RE GOING TO THE POLLS ON NOVEMBER 3RD I’M PROUD OF YOU.

"Whatever your PLAN, I’m proud of you; make sure you have one !!! (sic)"

Meanwhile, Zayn revealed his daughter was "healthy" and "beautiful" shortly after her birth.

The singer took to Twitter to announce the arrival of his first child.

Zayn, 27, said on the micro-blogging platform: "Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful [praying and love heart emojis] to try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task.
