It's not just the new owners of the old Wellington Air Traffic Control tower that will be smiling

It's not just the new owners of the old Wellington Air Traffic Control tower that will be smiling

Tommy's Real Estate, that sold the tower, is giving away its commission - making a sizeable donation to Wellington's under-construction children's hospital.

Airways New Zealand put the tower up for sale after almost 60 years of service.

Sales director Nicki Cruickshank says they'll be donating around 20-thousand dollars, so the hospital can buy some good equipment.

The tower's sold for 20-percent more than was expected ... the asking price was around 900-thousand dollars.
