Peter Andre was “surprised” to learn he’d tested positive for coronavirus

The ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker hadn’t been feeling “quite right” so took a test to find out if he’d contracted the highly-contagious illness and was shocked when he found out that was what was causing his symptoms

Writing in his New! magazine column, he said: “As you may have heard, I’ve tested positive for coronavirus.

“I was surprised to say the least when I got my test results back.

“At the time of writing this, I’ve got aches and I’ve just not been feeling quite right.

“It’s a scary time for a lot of people out there.”

The 47-year-old star - who has four children, Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, with ex-wife Katie Price and Amelia, seven, and Theodore, four, with wife Emily – can’t get too close to his family while he’s isolating but he’s “incredibly grateful” to have them around.

He added: “I’m being careful around the kids so I’m wearing a mask and keeping my distance.

“It’s worrying for people who live on their own.

“I feel incredibly grateful that I have my family around me, even if we can’t be near each other.”

Peter’s diagnosis comes after his wife Emily tested positive for coronavirus in July and had to isolate away from her family but they all adapted to the circumstances "really well".

She said at the time: “'I was only able to wave at them from the top of the stairs. Myself and Pete also slept in separate bedrooms just to be on the safe side.

“It was horrible but the family adapted to it really well and I got a big hug at the end. I had a sore throat and lost my sense of smell and taste for a week.”
