Two women are facing charges in relation to the death of Rau Tongia

Two women are facing charges in relation to the death of Rau Tongia

A 35 year old is charged with murdering the Karori man, and a 20 year old is charged with being an accessory after the fact to the murder.

The younger woman is alleged to have actively suppressed evidence - transporting and concealing a firearm.

Her lawyer applied for name suppression ... on the basis her elderly grandfather would suffer "shock and horror" and potential health harm if he heard about the charges.

    Judge Mill granted the application.

The older woman also has interim name suppression pending a mental health assessment.
