    Three years after fearing he would never play again at the Australian Tennis Open after suffering a debilitating hip injury, Andy Murray has won through to the second round


    The former world number one has beaten 21st seed Nikoloz Basilashvili in five sets, the match coming six days after the Scot pipped the Georgian in a three-setter at Sydney.



    In the duel between past US Open champions, Emma Raducanu has beaten Sloane Stephens in three sets.



    Nick Kyrgios has set up a second round encounter with tournament favourite Daniil Medvedev .
