A close family member of the woman murdered in Christchurch says her 11 year-old son saw the aftermath of the attack, from their home in Sockburn

A close family member of the woman murdered in Christchurch says her 11 year-old son saw the aftermath of the attack, from their home in Sockburn

Laisa Maraia Waka was walking home from the bus stop when she was killed on Saturday afternoon.

A Givealittle page set up to support Waka's family has already had more than 2-thousand dollars in donations.

Page creator Sanaila Raleqe says Waka's partner is a prominent member of the Moraia Fijian Methodist Parish in Christchurch.

Our newsroom understands Waka's son saw paramedics working...and later discovered they were trying to save his mother.
