England manager Gareth Southgate claims his team are operating within an unusual environment after securing passage to the knock-out stage of the European football championships

England manager Gareth Southgate claims his team are operating within an unusual environment after securing passage to the knock-out stage of the European football championships

They've finished top of group C on five points after a goal-less draw against Slovenia at Cologne.

England have scored two goals at the tournament and were booed off the field by their own fans today - beer cups were even hiffed in Southgate's direction.

Southgate's questioned how his team is being treated.

Denmark are also through to the round of 16 along with Slovenia who are guaranteed to advance as one of the four best third-placed finishers.
