Gisborne's mayor says the district is devastated, after the discovery of the body of a missing five-year-old boy

Police, Search and Rescue, and community volunteers scoured the area of Tiniroto after Khyzah went missing Sunday afternoon.

His body was found in a farm pond not far from his home, about 3.30 yesterday afternoon.

Rehette Stoltz says the news has been tragic and the community is in mourning.

She says everyone is sending love to Khyzah's whanau in this tough time.
