    State Highway 1 near Marlborough's Weld Pass is closed from 7pm tonight, while a crashed truck is removed

    State Highway 1 near Marlborough's Weld Pass is closed from 7pm tonight, while a crashed truck is removed


    The vehicle went down a bank south of Blenheim just before 5am.

    The narrow road needs to be fully closed to complete the recovery.

    A detour is available, and adds 90 minutes to the drive time from Christchurch to Blenheim.

    It's expected to re-open 5am tomorrow.
