The Government's getting a move on with its anti-stalking legislation

The Government's getting a move on with its anti-stalking legislation

A new bill will be put before Parliament by the end of the year, which could land an offender a five-year prison sentence.

Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith says it will apply to patterns of behaviour, like three acts taking place within a 12-month-period

He says a range of online and offline harassment behaviours are included, including recording, following and loitering.

Goldsmith says people will be able to have their say and test the various elements at select committee, as with technology changing, the law needs to be adaptable.
