The Housing Minister says wherever unruly Kainga Ora tenants go after being evicted is up to them

The Housing Minister says wherever unruly Kainga Ora tenants go after being evicted is up to them

The state housing agency's taken homes off 23 tenants in five months of last year after the Government instructed them to go harder on abusive or disruptive behaviour.

It's up from only four evictions in all of 2023.

Housing Minister Chris Bishop says if people still can't behave after three strikes, the Government won't be providing them a house.

He says Kainga Ora are now showing consequences for bad behaviour.
