Gisele Bündchen has reportedly given her new child the middle name River

The Brazilian supermodel, 44, who has been in a relationship with her martial arts instructor boyfriend Joaquim Valente, 35, since June 2023, has two children from her previous marriage to former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, 47 - Vivian Lake, 12, and 15-year-old Benjamin Rein - and it emerged earlier this week she had delivered a baby with her new love

A source who also told People her baby was a boy said he had the middle name River as a continuation of her tradition of giving her kids water-related monikers.

An insider was quoted by the outlet also saying about how she was intent on keeping her pregnancy as under wraps as possible: "She wanted to keep it private for as long as she could, (but) doing so was starting to be a challenge."

News of Gisele's birth broke on Wednesday (05.02.25), with TMZ first reporting the arrival of her third child and her first with Joaquim.

While the baby's first name remains unknown, a source confirmed to People that his middle name is a nod to nature.

Gisele has not yet publicly commented on the birth, but sources close to the model said she was "excited to embrace this new chapter openly".

One said: "She received many positive messages and congratulations."

The former Victoria's Secret model, who has been an iconic fashion figure for more than two decades, has kept her relationship with Joaquim largely private.

She and the jiu-jitsu teacher were first linked in 2023, following the model's high-profile divorce from Tom Brady after 13 years of marriage.

Joaquim is part of the Miami-based Valente Brothers martial arts academy, with he and his brothers training Gisele in self-defense before they got together.

Sources added the apparent middle name of River for her new child is part of her respect for nature as she is fixated on wellness, exercise and clean living.
