All Black Caleb Clarke has explained his leadership role as a senior player in a struggling Auckland NPC side

The blue and white hoops are oh-and-four heading into this afternoon's contest against defending champions Wellington in the capital.

Auckland have conceded 93 points at Eden Park across the last two weeks.

Clarke says he's been trying to install confidence in his youthful teammates.

    Kickoff's at five past two.

Meanwhile the hidings have continued in the women's Farah Palmer Cup, with Wellington flattening Taranaki 76-nil.
