A motorbike, power tools and more than nine thousand dollars in cash have been seized in Christchurch, to cover a person's unpaid fines

Police were executing a search warrant last week, when they found power tools allegedly linked to burglaries, alongside drugs, utensils, firearms and cash.

Senior Sergeant Rachel Walker says the occupant of the house had unpaid fines, despite the thousands of dollars in cash found lying around the garage.

She says court bailiffs seized a motorbike to pay off the outstanding fines.
