Germany are on the brink of automatic qualification for next year's men's football World Cup, following a 2-nil away win over Luxembourg

Germany are on the brink of automatic qualification for next year's men's football World Cup, following a 2-nil away win over Luxembourg

They top their group on goal difference from Slovakia, who had a dramatic 1-nil home win over Northern Ireland after two disallowed goals, with both sides clinching at least a playoff spot.

In Warsaw, the Netherlands maintained their three-point advantage over Poland in their group as the sides drew 1-all, leaving the Dutch a point away from qualification.

Those teams have one 20-26 World Cup qualifier remaining.
