Stanley Tucci became an unexpected internet sensation during COVID-19 lockdowns by sharing cocktail-making videos, turning him into a "thirst meme" and delighting his wife Felicity Blunt. Speaking to Tatler, Felicity said the attention was welcome after Tucci had undergone a difficult cancer battle, which had left him physically depleted. "He had just come out of this period where he felt less than himself," she said. Diagnosed with oral cancer in 2017, Tucci underwent aggressive treatment despite initial reluctance due to his late wife's experience. Speaking to The Guardian, he said: "I didn't want to do the treatment... But Felicity was adamantly against alternative options." While sceptical of both standard and alternative treatments, Tucci acknowledged the complexity of cancer care. "Each cancer is different, each person is different," he said.
