Fire and Emergency NZ is looking into the cause of a fire at two homes in Auckland's Beach Haven just after six last night

The blaze, which started at a two storey property, spread to an adjoining house.

Everybody inside was accounted for.

Karyn Tuapawa has described the moment her daughter told her the house next door was on fire.

She says by the time she opened her back door, it was fully ablaze and there were about another three explosions, and the fire was on her side.

Tuapawa says her partner, who uses a wheelchair, is having to stay in hospital because all his equipment is gone.
