Jennifer Lopez shopped "museum-quality archival couture" to find her Golden Globes dress

The Hustlers star had been keen to do something "different and special" with her look for Sunday's (12.01.26) ceremony but she and her team had no idea what it would be until she tried on a 2003 gown from Jean-Louis Scherrer Haute Couture - which featured nude mesh with a tulle mermaid-style hem - and it fit perfectly.

Jennifer's stylist, Mariel Haenn, told Harper's Bazaar: "Jennifer decided she wanted to do something different and special, so we went shopping at Lily Et Cie, which has the most incredible selection of museum-quality archival couture.

"We weren't sure what she was going to have, but once we saw this dress, we knew it was the one, especially since when she tried it on it, it fit her perfectly-as if it was made for her. It wasn't much of a decision process, as it was truly stunning from the first moment she put it on!"

To complement the gown, the 56-year-old star's hairstylist Chris Appleton also sought inspiration from the early 2000s.

He explained: "Her look was inspired by early 2000s supermodel glam. We wanted something sculpted, shiny, and snatched, but that put a twist on a classic favourite.

"Instead of being puffy and loose, we wanted it sleek. And I really wanted to compliment Jennifer's iconic color with the blonde pieces coming through. The single piece of hair that just fell down the middle of her face made the whole thing effortless."

And the On the Floor hitmaker's make-up artist Scott Barnes opted for a smoky eye and bronzed skin to "echo the richness" of her dress.

Scott said: "The look glowed with warm, buttery caramel tones-soft toasted gold that melted into her skin and gave the entire moment a modern, sensual edge. Those hues didn't just flatter her; they completed her, echoing the richness of the gown and creating a seamless flow from complexion to fabric.

"Together, the colour and the gown formed a unified, smoldering palette that elevated the classic silhouette into something contemporary and irresistibly seductive. Every highlight carried that molten warmth, pulling the whole look into one polished, cohesive statement."
