Rebecca Adlington has given birth to a baby girl - following two miscarriages

The Team GB Olympian and her husband, facilities manager Andy Parsons - who are already parents to their four-year-old son Albie - announced Thea Joy's arrival with an adorable shot of the newborn posted to Instagram on Sunday (01.03.26).

Rebecca's photo showed Thea sleeping on her back whilst in a yellow and white-striped babygrow and wrapped up in a knitted blanket, as the former competitive swimmer and Andy made heart shapes with their hands above Thea's head.

The double Olympic gold medallist, 37, captioned the adorable image - which also featured Albie and his 10-year-old sister, Summer, whom Rebecca has with her ex-husband, Harry Needs - with: "Thea Joy Parsons. Our family is complete."

Celebrity pals and fellow Team GB alum rushed to congratulate Rebecca and Andy - who married at the lavish Scarlet Hall country estate in Cheshire, North West England, in August 2021 - in the post's comments section.

UK TV personality Kelsey Parker, 34, penned: "So special. Congratulations xx (sic)."

Rio 2016 double Olympic silver medallist swimmer Jazz Carlin, 35, wrote: "The most amazing news, congratulations to you all! Hope you're feeling ok, sending lots of love."

UK soap opera actress Catherine Tyldesley, 42, typed: "Oh Thea! Huge congratulations guys. Just wonderful xxx (sic)."

And London 2012 long jump Olympic champion Greg Rutherford, 39, said: "Massive congratulations."

Rebecca announced her pregnancy in September 2025 - almost two years after they were left heartbroken after learning their daughter Harper didn't have a heartbeat at her 20-week scan in 2023.

In an Instagram post, Rebecca wrote: "We want to share that we are expecting a child. It has been an emotional and physical rollercoaster navigating these past 19 months of trying, but this pregnancy has been a small miracle.

"We questioned whether we wanted to share this news but we want to continue to be open and honest about our journey and be mindful of the struggles that others have had and continue to have.

"We are taking each day as it comes and are incredibly grateful for the care we are receiving from the NHS (Rainbow Team) and are feeling overwhelmingly supported by them.

"While we are cautiously overjoyed, we carry awareness of the quiet struggles many face, and we send love to those hearts too. We know so many people are still waiting for this kind of news. (sic)"

The loss of Harper came a year after Rebecca suffered another miscarriage at 12 weeks, and she was subsequently struck down with sepsis and kidney failure.

She praised her "angel" Andy and the rest of her family, who "rallied around" as she struggled to come to terms with her loss and her own health crisis.
