Catherine, Princess of Wales' children "love their dancing"

The 44-year-old royal was treated to a Bollywood dance performance by The Aakash Odedra Company during a visit to the Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre in Leicester, central England, on Thursday (05.03.26), where she celebrated the culture and community of the British Indian community following their celebrations for the Hindu festival of Holi earlier in the week.

After being impressed by the routine, she told the group her and Prince William's three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis, would have enjoyed it too.

She said: "You must be super fit because it's super energetic.

"My children would love that; they love their dancing. Louis would love your dance routine."

Upon her arrival at the community centre, dance company founder Aakrash Odedra presented the princess with a garland of pearls and roses, and later noted he had made it especially for her because there was "no better way to welcome a guest than to garnish their soul with flowers".

Catherine got her own chance to dance when she visited Shreeji Dham Haveli, a Hindu Temple serving the local Vaishnav community, and was invited to join in with a traditional ladies' routine during a religious ceremony.

Asked to participate on her first official visit to a Hindu temple in Britain, Catherine - who had removed her shoes in accordance with protocol inside the building - replied: "Oh, go on then".

She then joined in with the circle of women and Mayur Kachela, a member of the temple's ex ecutive committee, said: "It was absolutely amazing.

"She was really acknowledging what we're doing here, and really engaged. This is part of our faith, and it was very nice that she acknowledged what we're doing."

Catherine's day of engagements in the English city included a stop at Bobby's, a family-run Indian restaurant, where she tucked into chai tea and Indian sweets after confirming she was "okay with spice".

Taking a bite as she sat with the eatery's owners, Dharmesh and Enna Lakhani, she said: "Mmm. Is this coriander?

"I love coriander and chili but William is less of a fan of coriander."

She also told the couple: "What's lovely about a family business is that the values still stay. That's the heart of it. That's really what matters to the customers, those relationships."

And as she met their sons, Arjun, 28, and Karran, 25, Catherine noted family businesses "made changes along the way".

Catherine was invited to the counter to choose a box of sweets to take home to her children and the owner joked they were all "zero calories".

She laughed and said: "Amazing. No wonder you're so popular."

Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire Mike Kapur offered to hold the box for the royal guest and she teased: "Don't eat them."
