Part of Tauranga's Central Police Station closed last night after a Covid scare

Part of Tauranga's Central Police Station closed last night after a Covid scare

Police say a close contact of a case briefly entered the after-hours public counter area.

The area was closed, cleaned and later reopened.

The rest of the station continued operating and Police say there was no impact on their ability to respond to incidents.

The person was wearing a mask - and staff were wearing PPE.
