Speaker Gerry Brownlee wants to start a conversation about MP conduct in the House

Speaker Gerry Brownlee wants to start a conversation about MP conduct in the House

Green MP Ricardo Menendez-March swore in the House this week, weeks after Party colleague, Julie-Ann Genter, was referred to the Privileges Committee after complaints of intimidating behaviour.

Brownlee says he wants to raise behaviour in the Business Committee, which he chairs.

He says he wants to discuss how to put a brake on the idea that sort of language could become acceptable in Parliament -- even in interjection .
