A Christian care residence's under fire, over breaches of patient and legal rights

A Christian care residence's under fire, over breaches of patient and legal rights

Open Justice reports two women complained to the Health and Disability Commissioner about staying at the home, as teenagers.

Many complaints were outlined, including that a counsellor told one woman she had 'soul ties' to her rapist.

Deputy Health and Disability Commissioner Vanessa Caldwell says she found three breaches of patient rights, including the facility not being certified or audited.

Among a raft of other findings, Caldwell also found the facility incorrectly implied two staff were registered nurses.
