Black Caps white-ball captain Mitch Santner is supporting the constant flow of major events in the modern cricket calendar

While he's sidelined in surgery recovery for a couple more weeks - the Black Caps have their second T20 against Australia this evening in preparation for the World Cup in February and March.

Santner acknowledges the short-form tournament has developed its significance, alongside the 50-over game and the World Test Championship.

But he says the fatigue is worth it.

First ball's set for 7.15pm ... however, wet weather is forecast for tonight.
