    The Gunners are five points clear on 45 points after 19 of 38 fixtures after this morning's 4-1 demolition of third-placed Aston Villa.

    Manager Mikel Arteta offering this summation as they head into the New Year.



    The Gunners have played an extra game than second placed Manchester City, who can cut the lead back to two on Friday morning at Sunderland.
