Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert are parents

The Dancing with the Stars judge and the 31-year-old dancer welcomed a baby girl called Everley Capri Hough into the world on December 29, 2025, and announced her arrival on Instagram on Monday (05.01.26).

In a joint post, the couple shared a sweet black-and-white photo of their hands cupped around their daughter's tiny feet, and captioned it with: "December 29, 2025. Everley Capri Hough. Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed."

The upload from Derek, 40, and Hayley - who previously experienced a miscarriage - sparked thousands of congratulatory messages from their loved ones in the post's comments section.

His sister-and-Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Julianne Hough, 37, penned: "Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley."

Derek's fellow judge on the ABC Latin and Ballroom dance show, Carrie Ann Inaba, 58, typed: "Congratulations!!!! Welcome Everley (sic)."

Model Heidi Klum, 52, left: "Congratulations."

And many of Derek and Hayley's fans wished the couple well, with one saying: "Congratulations so happy for your family."

Another supporter sent: "Congratulations on your new bundle of joy!! What a beauty! Welcome sweet Everley. (sic)"

And a third user said: "We can't wait to see her running and dancing around too."

The couple - who met in 2014 when he and Julianne hired Hayley as a dancer on their Move Live Tour - shared they were expecting their first child together via a video posted to Instagram in July 2025.

In the heartwarming clip, the pair - who struck up a romance when Hayley joined the 2015 series of Dancing with the Stars as a troupe member - shared a hug before Hayley held up some sonogram photos for the camera.

The duo - who got engaged in June 2022 - captioned the post: "We can't believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small."

In the run-up to Everley's arrival, Derek - who wed Hayley in front of 106 guests during an outdoor ceremony in Monterey County, California, in August 2023 - shared his excitement about becoming a dad, as well as doing activities and going on trips with his and Hayley's little one.

In September 2025, he told People: "Going to Disneyland, or going on trips, and just seeing their wonderment, and their eyes, just wide open.

"I can't wait to experience things for the first time with my beautiful child."

In November that year, the choreographer admitted he had learnt everything he could about pregnancy.

Derek told E! News: "I've been having classes with the doulas and midwives, learning all about the pregnancy. Just all these different things and all these tools to really understand this birth, because it's going to be a very intimate birth.

"It's going to be a little different, so I have to make sure I know what I'm doing."

Derek hopes his experience of being a mentor on Dancing with the Stars will stand him in good stead as a dad.

He said: "I'm at my best as a person when I'm helping somebody or just being present and hearing them speak."

Welling up, Derek continued: "I get emotional thinking about it, where I get to guide, mentor, love this human being from day one."

Smiling, he added: "It's gonna be amazing, and I'm looking forward to what it all is going to do and mean for me as a dad, as a person, as a man and what's going to evolve within me and change."
