Gael Monfils has mixed feelings ahead of beginning his final season on the ATP Tour tonight in Auckland

Gael Monfils has mixed feelings ahead of beginning his final season on the ATP Tour tonight in Auckland

The ASB Classic defending champion headlines the night session from 6pm.

The fan favourite Frenchman has only had two matches since the end of July.

But he says he feels okay as he begins his final year before retirement.

Monfils plays Hungarian Fabian Morozsan - who he lost to in the first round in 2024.

Mixed success today for other former champions - 2024 winner Alejandro Tabilo is through, but two-time winner Roberto Bautista Agut is out.
