Sinners was the big winner at the Actor Awards

The glitzy ceremony - formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards - was hosted by actress Kristen Bell and took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday night (01.03.26) with Sinners landing the top film prize Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture and the movie's star Michael B. Jordan taking the gong for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.

Jordan - who plays twins in Ryan Coogler's - gave an emotional acceptance speech and thanked his peers for making him feel "seen". Picking up the prize, he said: "I wasn't expecting that. I'm so honored and privileged to be nominated in categories with people and actors and humans that I love, and I love their work and what they contribute to our craft and this rise has been unbelievable. So, thank you for welcoming me in and making me feel seen.

"I remember watching all the other actors that I looked up to being a part of that club, being a part of SAG-AFTRA, being a part of this community, and I was like: 'Man, I want to do that one day.'

"So I remember when I got my SAG-AFTRA card, I was like: 'Man, I'm like an entry-level member and those guys that were on stage with the awards and the nice suits and going to fancy places like that'. That's what I always wanted.

"And that kid from North New Jersey is standing here right now. Mom, thank you for driving me back and forth to New York when we didn't have enough money to go through the Holland Tunnel ... when I went up there for my auditions, thank you."

He went on to add: "Just being in this room right now with all these people who see me grow up in front of the camera and in these rooms - I feel the love and support that you've always given me and encouraged me to go on and do my best. So, I just want to say thank you."

Elsewhere in the movie categories, Jessie Buckley won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her turn in Hamnet while Sean Penn picked up a best supporting actor trophy for his role in One Battle After Another.

The best supporting actress prize went to Amy Madigan for Weapons.

In the TV categories, medical drama The Pitt won the the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series with the show's star Noah Wyle landed the best actor prize.

Keri Russell scooped the trophy for best actress in a drama series for her role The Diplomat.

The Studio triumphed in the best comedy series ensemble category and Seth Rogen won best actor in a comedy series for his role in the Hollywood-centered show.

Rogen also returned to the stage to pick up the best actress in a comedy series award on behalf of his late co-star Catherine O'Hara, who died in January.

He gave a moving tribute to the actress in his speech, telling the audience: "I know she would have been honored to receive this award from her fellow performers, who[m] I know she respected so much. She was such big fans of all of yours.

"I, obviously, have been reflecting on the time I was fortunate enough to spend with her and working with her, and something that I've just been marveling at over the last few weeks was really her ability to be generous and kind and gracious, while never, ever minimizing her own talents and her own ability to contribute to the work that we were doing.

"She knew she could destroy, and she wanted to destroy every day on set."

Teenage actor Owen Cooper won the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for his star turn in Adolescence while Michelle Williams won the female equivalent for her performance in Dying for Sex.

The stunt prizes included wins for Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and TV show The Last of Us while the Life Achievement Award was presented to to Harrison Ford, who gave a passionate speech about his lengthy career and thanked his wife Calista Flockhart for all her support.

He said: "I feel incredibly grateful for this kind attention. But to be clear, I also am quite humbled.

"That said, it is a little weird to be receiving a lifetime achievement award at the half point of my career. It's a little weird isn't it? I'm still a working actor!

"I was not an overnight success ... Thank you, George Lucas. Thank you, Steven Spielberg ... This is a tough business to get into. In my case, it's a tough business to get out of, thank God, because I love what I do ...

"I'm indeed a lucky guy. Lucky to have found my people. Lucky to have work that challenges me. Lucky to still be doing it. And I don't take that for granted ...

"I want to say thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart, to my peers, [and] to my extraordinary, beautiful wife Calista and my family who have given me love and courage through all of it."
