Willie Nelson has received the first shot of his Covid-19 vaccine

The 87-year-old country music legend’s wife Annie revealed she and her husband received the first dose of the Moderna jab earlier this week

Willie suffers from Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which means he is classified as vulnerable.

His spouse told Rolling Stone: “We’re lucky. We made sure that [he] wasn’t cutting anybody – in fact, the healthcare workers were kind of angry that we had waited so long because he is 87 years old and has COPD.”

Annie shared that the ‘On The Road Again’ hitmaker “was bragging yesterday after he got it that he didn’t even have a sore arm.”

She added: “Now, today, of course his arm is sore.”

The Family Hospital Systems’ official Facebook page posted a series of snaps of Wille arriving in his car at the clinic at Cedar Park, Texas, wearing a mask to show how easy it is to get vaccinated.

They captioned the post: "Getting your COVID vaccine is Willie cool!

“Thank you Willie Nelson for helping Family Hospital Systems slow the spread of COVID-19!

We want to encourage everyone to continue to get routine tests and signup for a vaccine. Family Hospital Systems drive through tests and vaccines are convenient and easy. Sign up today! https://ecs.page.link/XLRH8
