    A fleeing driver - who sent a police officer flying - and sped away from the scene has been sentenced


    James Wiki Henry hit a constable with his car near Upper Hutt - a year ago.

    The victim was deploying road spikes - when Henry drove into him - at about 40 kilometers an hour.

    The perpetrator's been sentenced to 23 months in prison - after pleading guilty to a number of charges.

    Judge "Tania Warburton" says - the officer suffered injuries that heavily contributed to his resignation from Police.
