Ellen Pompeo has been a "role model" for Imogen Faith Reid

The 55-year-old actress stars alongside Imogen in 'Good American Family', the new Hulu drama series, and Imogen has admitted that she "loved" working with the 'Grey's Anatomy' star

Imogen, 27, told Us Weekly: "She is very much a role model for me.

"I did love 'Grey's Anatomy' and I never told her because I didn't want to weird her out. But I really loved working alongside Ellen so much."

Imogen actually learned "so much" from working with Ellen.

She said: "I remember there was a time on set where as an actor you have to get into your right mark and I was confused. Ellen asked the cameraman to turn over the camera for me so I could actually see what I was doing.

"That was a real learning moment for me - it was like I was really being taught there."

Ellen has helped Imogen to overcome her nerves and to speak her mind when she was on set.

The actress said: "She always taught me that I could have a voice and that I could speak up.

"For my first job I was shy, I was a bit intimidated and she always made me feel so comfortable. It was just a real gift for me to have somebody like her to learn from. These things that she's taught me, I'll always take with me to each job that I do."

Earlier this year, Ellen revealed that she won't allow her youngest daughter to watch 'Grey's Anatomy'.

The actress played Dr Meredith Grey in the medical drama series - but she still won't allow her daughter to watch 'Grey's Anatomy'.

During an appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', Ellen - who has Eli, six, Sienna, ten, and Stella, 15, with husband Chris Ivery - explained: "My 15-year-old has seen it, and now my ten-year-old wants to see it. She's not ready, but a lot of kids in her class have seen it.

"No judgement on other parents. But I don't want my daughter to see me in my underwear on television just yet. But all her classmates have so ... That makes for great conversation at pick-up."
