    The secondary teachers' union says their latest pay offer doesn't meet the core issues


    PPTA members are voting on the offer, on the same week primary school teachers have voted to reject their latest proposed collective agreement.

    The Government's almost doubled its offer to secondary teachers -- with those at top of the pay scale receiving a 2.5 percent rise, followed by two percent a year later.

    PPTA President Chris Abercrombie says there are concerns around pay - and also pastoral care, curriculum and support.

    He says there's nothing in the offer for heads of department, who are implementing curriculums into schools.
