Business Desk reports local firm Uber Group sued the US company over its deal with One NZ claiming it infringed its trademark.
Justice Mathew Downs said that the local group was often mistaken for the overseas company but not very often the other way around.
He said ruling in favour of the local company would have caused harm to Uber and One NZ.
