The Privacy Commissioner is calling for changes to the Privacy Act, following an increased number of complaints and breaches

Its Annual Report shows privacy complaints are up 21 percent year on year, with the number of serious breaches rising 43 percent.
It finds more than 60 percent of people are concerned about businesses using their information, and using AI to make decisions.
Privacy Commissioner Michael Webster says the Act needs to be modernised to stay relevant.
He says it's an act that's out of step with the nature of technological developments and concerns of New Zealanders.
