Ozzy Osbourne's eldest son gets "goosebumps" thinking about his father's "awe-inspiring" funeral procession

The Black Sabbath rocker passed away in July following a string of health issues and he was laid to rest in his native England in a private ceremony following a procession through his home city of Birmingham and Louis Osbourne - whose mother is the singer's first wife Thelma Riley - admitted he wasn't expecting such a huge turnout of people wanting to pay their respects to the music legend.

Appearing on his half-brother Jack Osbourne's podcast, Trying Not To Die, Louis said: "I just thought it was going to be two or three people deep for half a kilometre before where the Black Sabbath bridge was and it would be a throng.

"As we came towards the street and turned onto the street - I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it now, it was f****** insane!

"People climbing up lampposts, hanging out of windows, standing on top of bus stops to get a look at it. It was awe-inspiring."

"Once we'd all got out of the cards and shown our respects and moved on again, it kept on going for another half a mile. And people were following us all around town."

Louis admitted seeing the crowd was a "humbling" experience and gave him a better idea of the "cultural impact" Ozzy had had over the years.

He said: "I knew people loved him, but I didn't have a sense of how many and how much. It's been quite humbling in many, many ways...

"I've always known his music. Honestly, personally I'm more of a Sabbath fan than I am of his solo work - not to say I don't love his solo work as well but I've always said Sabbath's in my bones, in my genes.

"But I've never come to terms with or got my head around the fact of just how much of a cultural impact and how culturally important he was."

Louis noted he hadn't taken his father's fame "for granted".

Jack added: "It's just when you're in it, you don't see it... It's just dad."
