The extra investment by Health New Zealand was announced by the Health Minister yesterday.
Simeon Brown says too many Kiwis face distressing delays for these life-saving procedures.
Blood Cancer New Zealand Chief Executive, Tim Edmonds agrees, saying every patient deserves their chance at a cure without experiencing avoidable harm.
He says it's distressing being told you have to wait for a stem-cell transplant which is effectively a life saving cure for patients.
