Sadie Sink has "never" dyed her hair and she wants to keep it that way

The 23-year-old actress - best known for her role as Max Mayfield in Stranger Things - admitted while she occasionally has moments where she's desperate to change her signature locks, she doesn't think she'd ever actually take the plunge.

She told Glamour magazine: "I've thought about it, but I've never dyed my hair. Anyone who has red hair knows the ups and downs of your relationship with it.

"Sometimes you're like, 'Yes, I love my hair. It's the best thing ever.' And then sometimes you're like, 'Oh my God, I hate it. I just want to change it.'

"But no matter where you stand, what you hear your entire life as a redhead is to never dye your hair.... So I never have, and I don't think I will. I like the idea that my hair isn't dyed."

Sadie - who has also starred in the likes of The Whale and A Sacrifice - explained that she would rather keep a natural and low-key aesthetic.

She added: "I don't have any piercings or tattoos or anything... I like the idea of never doing anything."

The star - who has landed an undisclosed role in 2026's Spider-Man: Brand New Day - acknowledged how her approach can help inspire others by being herself, having been baffled by Hollywood's ever-changing approach to style.

She said: "Nowadays it's hard to ignore how much people change looks and fashion, and all of that has blended into actors and the entertainment industry.

"Growing up in that, and actively being a part of that, is a little bit confusing sometimes because it's like, 'Wait, what? Are we all supposed to look like this? Is this what everyone wants us to look like?' I don't want to do that."

Sadie previously admitted she finds the glitz and glamour of red carpets "overwhelming" and tries to ease any stress by wearing things that she is comfortable with.

She told Elle: "Red carpets are such weird, overwhelming places to be as it is, so I don't like wearing anything that like looks too out of place on me. The most important thing I've learned is to do those things that make me feel as myself as possible.

"Even though I'm wearing clothes that aren't mine and there's new people around me, as far as I can feel comfortable and like myself, that's what I aim for above anything else.

"I like looking like myself, the Sadie I see in the mirror everyday - that's when I feel the most confident. Let the freckles show, that's always the most important."
