In an interview with The New York Times, Simon Cowell opened up about his early days on American Idol and his co-host Ryan Seacrest. Cowell described Seacrest as "very, very ambitious" with a "massive, massive desire" to be famous, though the two rarely talk now. Cowell, 66, also acknowledged the regret he feels over some of his cutting remarks to contestants. "I got that. What can I say? I'm sorry," he admitted. He explained his behaviour stemmed from long, frustrating audition days. While reflecting on fame, Cowell said managing it is just as hard as achieving it, but ultimately feels no regret. "I made the decision to do something different in my life... I would do it all over again."
