A woman accused of interfering with human remains after a dead baby was found in an Auckland wheelie bin in July - can now be named as Chanelle Smith

The 32-year-old pleaded not guilty in October, and is scheduled to reappear on February 18.

Lawyer, Joon Yi, indicated an insanity defence would be argued at trial.

Yi had argued publishing Smith's identity could impact the property's sale price.
