Ricky Martin has paid a glowing tribute to Bad Bunny following his Grammy success

The 31-year-old star recently won the Album of the Year, Best Musica Urbana Album, and Best Global Music Performance gongs at the Grammys in Los Angeles, and Ricky has now lavished praise on the Puerto Rican star.

Ricky, 54 - who was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico - wrote in the Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Día: "Benito, brother, seeing you win three Grammy Awards, one of them for album of the year with a production entirely in Spanish, touched me deeply. Not only as an artist, but as a Puerto Rican who has walked stages around the world carrying his language, his accent, and his story."

Ricky wrote the article under the headline, "When One of Ours Succeeds, We All Succeed".

And the Livin' La Vida Loca hitmaker heaped praise on Bad Bunny for remaining true to his Puerto Rican heritage.

He said: "I know what it means to succeed without letting go of where you come from. I know how heavy it is, what it costs, and what is sacrificed when you decide not to change because others ask you to. That's why what you have achieved is not just a historic musical accomplishment, it's a cultural and human victory."

He subsequently added: "You won without changing the colour of your voice. You won without erasing your roots. You won by staying true to Puerto Rico."

Bad Bunny is set to perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show this weekend, and Gloria Estefan is convinced that he will "kill it" when he takes to the stage.

Gloria, 68 - who performed during the Halftime Shows in 1992 and 1999 - recently told E! News: "In those minutes, he's gonna have the ability to impact the world, because it's billions of people watching, which kind of makes it kind of nerve-wracking."

Despite this, Gloria is convinced that the rapper will wow the worldwide audience with his talent.

She said: "He's gonna kill it, I'm sure."
