A kick in the guts for Auckland's North Shore

A kick in the guts for Auckland's North Shore

Out of the five America's Cup courses, the two which would have provided high drama for people at Takapuna and Devonport have been ruled out.

Devonport-Takapuna Local Board chair Aidan Bennett says Summernova festival events have been planned to coincide with the America's Cup.

He says it's disappointing the racing won't now be part of the spectacle.

He says Takapuna and Devonport businesspeople were looking forward to having some extra foot traffic in the area.
