The State of Emergency in Clutha has now been lifted

The State of Emergency in Clutha has now been lifted

It was put in place on Friday, after intense rain in Otago closed the state highway north of Milton.

The highway is now open between Balclutha and Dunedin, and areas of Clutha are no longer isolated.

Clutha District Emergency Management Controller Stan Leishman is thanking district residents for their patience.

He says council will be supporting farmers and business significantly affected, through the recovery phase.
