The family of a 24-year-old killed in an Auckland workplace accident - are welcoming a multi-million-dollar court settlement

The family of a 24-year-old killed in an Auckland workplace accident - are welcoming a multi-million-dollar court settlement

Contractor Jamey Bowring died in an explosion at Salters Cartage in 2015 - which recycles and disposes of hazardous waste.

Owner Ron Salter has agreed to pay four-million-dollars - to settle a "first-of-its-kind" criminal proceeds case taken by police.

Bowring's mother, Sarah Ferguson, has criticised Salter's actions before and since the day her son died.

She says her son deserved to come home from work that day.
