More than two-thousand people have switched to the Maori Electoral Roll in the past month

More than two-thousand people have switched to the Maori Electoral Roll in the past month

Electoral Commission data shows from October to yesterday, two-thousand-262 people changed from the General Roll.

Only 28 went the other direction.

There have been 862 new enrolments on the Maori Roll, and 33 on the General Roll.

Organisers of the more than 40-thousand strong hikoi that swamped Parliament grounds last week - urged people to sign up to the Maori Roll.
