Kate Beckinsale has quashed rumours she kissed her ex Matt Rife at a Golden Globes afterparty

The 51-year-old British actress briefly dated the 29-year-old American comic between 2017 and 2018, and they were reunited at Netflix's bash at Spago following the glitzy awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday (05.01.25)

One eyewitness had told the New York Post's Page Six column that the pair "were kissing and being affectionate with one another", but a representative for Kate insists they are simply "friendly exes".

They told PEOPLE: "It is incorrect that they were kissing.

"They are friendly exes who were having a fun time speaking."

The statement correlates with another individual's account of their reunion, with the source having told Page Six: "They are friendly exes and were having some funny conversations."

Kate - who has also romanced comedians Pete Davidson, 31, and Jack Whitehall, 36 - previously admitted it can make her feel "kind of ugh" when everyone comments on her relationships.

She told Women's Health magazine: "If everyone's s****** on you, it can make you feel kind of ugh for a minute - especially if there's really nothing wrong. If you're strangling a squirrel or hurting someone, I get it, but living one's life in a reasonably respectful manner shouldn't invite anyone to get too excited."

Kate married director Len Wiseman, 51, in 2004, but they separated in 2015, and their divorce was finalised in 2019. She was also in a long-term relationship with Michael Sheen, 55, with whom she has daughter Lily Mo, 25.

Meanwhile, the 'Underworld' star recently alleged she was ordered to pose for a photo shoot a day after she suffered a miscarriage.

Kate made the claim in an Instagram video in December, in which she also detailed a slew of traumatic experiences she has endured in the acting business.

Inspired by Blake Lively's sexual harassment and retaliation complaint against her 'It Ends With Us' co-star and director Justin Baldoni, Kate said to the camera: "I've been forced by a publicist that I was employing to do a photo shoot the day after I'd had a miscarriage.

    "And I said, 'I can't. I'm bleeding. I don't want to change my clothes in front of people I don't know. I'm bleeding. I had a miscarriage'.

"And she was like, 'You have to or you'll be sued.'"
